Obviously not!
People all over this country are trying to get themselves to healthier weight, but struggling. It is not as easy as it sounds. If you're like me, at one time I thought all you needed to do was eat less and exercise more. This is not the answer. The issue is far more complex.
Reducing calories alone is considered by most to be the solution. It is important, but you must also take into consideration other factors.
We are mislead by all sorts of misinformation. Consider all those products you see at your local grocery store labeled as "Fat-Free", "Sugar-Free", or "Low Carb." Well guess what? Next time check the nutritional panel, if it doesn't have one, chances are good it has ample supply of the other. You might want to check the amount of sodium as well, another silent killer.
One pound equals 3500 calories. You burn about 100 calories jogging one mile. Accordingly, you must run 35 miles to lose one pound. Although critical for optimal health, exercise alone is not the answer. Additionally, the more overweight you are, the more prone to injury from activities such as jogging. It constitues far more stress on your ankles and knees. Low impact is the way to go.
